The 30-second boot
Well, I installed and promptly forgot about bootchart a little while ago, and I’ve only just had a look through /var/log/bootchart to see what’s been going on. There’s a wide range of boottimes reported, with one boot taking almost 3 minutes (a problem with usplash, it seems – to speed this up I always have to hit ctrl+alt+F1), but one boot managed to come in at just 27 seconds. Still, it’s not fast enough…
