About Me
I’m a 20 year old guy studying English Literature in London, with a keen interest not only in English (of course) but also Linux and the open-source community (I run Ubuntu exclusively now, after a year of dual booting with Windows XP). My main extra-curricular activity at uni is debating; our society website can be found here. I’ve had two letters in the Guardian, which I suppose makes me some kind of centre-leftie. They’re both quite old ones.
My favourite books include Tristram Shandy, Ulysses and all of the novels of B.S. Johnson that I’ve been able to find and read. Other writers I like include (Virginia) Woolf, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Pope and so on. Chaucer is currently addling my brains.
This blog will host various thoughts/ramblings on open-source, literature, my life, my work, and other general interests. I might add a new favourite word every week, if I remember. The name comes from the song ‘Joshua fit de battle of Jericho’ - seeing as my name is Josh, that should make at least some sense. The k and b are the first letters of my middle and last names respectively. [jerichokb is also my nick on irc, and username on various forums around the web.]
I think that’s about it for the about page for now. I had a horribly cheesey picture up but removed it because it almost broke my screen.
