Debating

Posted by jerichokb on January 7th, 2008

This page is going to grow into a collection of debating resources (mainly links, because I’m lazy like that) and tips; stay tuned and come back if you want to see how much I’ve added. If you’re here from the society, debating workshops take place at 7pm on Thursdays in the CSC. Come to the main room; we will split up into groups from there.

  • The Open Yale course on political philosophy has some interesting lectures that may come in handy (particularly the series on democracy!). Use them to broaden your knowledge base.
  • It’s important to keep up to date on news etc, so check out a couple of news services a day (I have the BBC and Guardian news feeds as live bookmarks in Firefox).
  • You should be able to find useful workshop information/feedback on my blog via this link. I aim to get feedback for workshop debates up, and general reminders on what the workshops discussed.

Just as an aside, while I am a member of my society, the views expressed in this blog are of course my own, and all other such disclaimers to that effect should be taken as read. The society’s website can be found here.
